I get a message that says my copy of windows is not genuine. Why?

99.9% of the time that message means what it says.  That you are using a copy of windows that is pirated, or a corporate copy ( Volume Licence ) that has been blacklisted.

One of the ways that some computer sellers keep costs down is by selling you a computer with a pirate copy of windows.  Eventualy Windows updates detects this, and you get the message, and slowly things stop working on your computer.  There is only one fix, that is to install a legitimate copy of windows.

Some viruses can alter this, so it is a good idea to check with your sales person to see why it is happening.  Of course it is also important to buy computers from businesses who are trustworthy.
