What does it mean thar SMART has detected a problem?
SMART is a system that checks your hard drive for signs that there are problems. If SMART tells you that the drive is in immediate need of service, pay attention. The drive could fail at any time. Try not to use it until you have your data backed up - which you should have done before this happened.
